We started with ten intercultural leadership teams in April 2022. In October we had our first Team Training Weekend. For two years we will walk together, we will get to know the special world of intercultural church building even better and we will experience wonderful things with God who smoothes our path and has a plan for the intercultural church in the Netherlands.
Thanks to the sisters of the Community of Deacon Missions, we can organize this Team Training in the way and with the quality that we prefer; with passionate trainers and supervisors, a beautiful location, a complete program, sufficient time and attention to meet everyone’s needs and beautiful material to be able to continue to invest, learn and grow as a team, even between the weekends.
The sisters talk about their heart and motivation for their support for ICP:
“We are the sisters of the Community of Missionary Deaconesses in the Netherlands. Traditionally, the four pillars of our work are diaconate, pastorate, evangelism and mission. Once we were more than eighty sisters, now we are with seven. Most of us are elderly and therefore less able to do the work ourselves. Instead, we want to support others who are committed to God’s Kingdom with prayer, encouragement and financial resources. The ICP team training is a project in which we recognize a lot of our own motivation, and to which we like to commit ourselves. Beautiful to see how God brings people from different countries and cultures together around the same desire. We consider it a privilege to hang out with you every now and then.”
Since their visit to the teams during the first training weekend in October 2022, the sisters have been a welcome guest and will hopefully also pay a visit in the coming weekends. It is super nice and important for the work of ICP to receive support from people with heart and vision for our mission. We bless the sisters with everything they need, personally and for their mission.
